Our commitment to GDPR

Bienity is a German company and operates fully within the European Union. We are committed to compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR"). Data protection is not an afterthought — it is built into how we design and operate our products from the ground up.

Bienity is the data controller for all personal data processed through the bienity.com website.

Data hosting — Germany only

All personal data collected and processed through Bienity websites and services is stored on infrastructure located exclusively in Germany. We do not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

This applies to:

  • Contact form submissions
  • Newsletter subscriptions
  • Website analytics data

Analytics — Umami (privacy-first)

We use Umami, a fully open-source, self-hosted analytics platform. Umami was designed from the ground up to be GDPR-compliant:

  • No cookies — Umami does not set any cookies on your device
  • No cross-site tracking — user sessions are not tracked across websites
  • No PII collected — no names, emails, or identifiable data are stored
  • Anonymised data only — aggregated metrics such as page views, browser type, and approximate location (country level)
  • Germany-hosted — our Umami instance runs on servers located in Germany
  • No consent banner required — because no personal data or cookies are involved

Your rights under GDPR

As a data subject under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 15) — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16) — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17) — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restriction (Art. 18) — request restriction of processing
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20) — receive your data in a portable format
  • Right to object (Art. 21) — object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3)) — at any time, without penalty

Data minimisation principle

We only collect the minimum personal data necessary to provide our services. We do not use advertising networks, tracking pixels, or third-party remarketing tools on the Bienity website.
